[this is a demonstration of a database-driven, dynamic-content web application]
MyInventory -a database-driven example
|
The key features of this web-centric application are:
Online Catalog [for examples click "Catalog" in the navigation bar] The catalog is always up to date - because as items are added to or deleted from the product database the pages here will be from the database - not some out-of-date printed material.
Ready to Ship [for examples click "InStock" in the navigation bar] When customers want to know - the database includes current adjustments for all purchases and shipments - so accurate information is always available.
Purchase Orders [for examples click "Purchase Orders" in the navigation bar] Provides a mechanism to show the status of planning information. Your customer service staff can see the potential for responding to customer queries real time. Typically this type of information would be restricted to your company's users -or- perhaps it might be made available to registered vendors/customers - whoever views it has the latest consolidated information.
