ADJECTIVES EXERCISE #2 1. Countries of the world use many different types of government. 2. Some types of government work well while others work terribly. 3. Some of the most prevalent types of government include: Autocracy, Anarchy, Socialism, Democracy, and the Republic. 4. Oftentimes, these types of government are combined into cooperative pairs. 5. For example, in the United States, the people endorse a Democratic Republic. 6. In other countries, such as China and Cambodia, there are Socialist Republics. 7. But, what do these political terms mean? 8. An autocratic government is a government which is ruled usually by a single leader (such as a king, a military leader, or other individual). 9. An anarchist government is a term used to describe the actual absence of government. 10. A socialist government is a government which is ruled collectively by its people for its people. 11. Socialist governments include communist governments (a subset of socialism). 12. A democracy is a type of government ruled by the people who often elect leaders to rule. 13. Democracy is similar to socialist governments; however, in most socialist government, representation becomes an issue. 14. When representation is closer to an equal apportionment, then there is socialism. 15. When representation is disproportionate, then there is a democracy. 16. A republic is simply a type of government which is directed by laws or codes.
